Magnolia Lagoon

With Angel Lagoon as a predecessor, we focused on how the similar program and spaces could evolve to become more efficient and match the aesthetic of the site. We went through multiple iterations on the Swim Up Bar, since we wanted to add more seating to the water serving side to create more opportunity for users to experience the bar. By rotating the previous Angel Lagoon Swim Up Bar layout and moving around the spaces, we achieved more seating and creating a larger viewing space into the lagoon for users in the dry seating space.
At the Palapa, the focus was geared towards adding more restrooms and showers spaces for the beach users. We placed those spaces on the side that mostly faced the beach, by flipping the building layout previously from Angel Lagoon.

For both the Swim Up Bar and Palapa, interior design and finishes went through many iterations to get a distinctly different aesthetic in comparison to Angel Lagoon. From studying cool to warm colors, we leaned towards a warm, light, and airy aesthetic throughout the project. For both buildings, we kept a consistent simple clean color scheme and chose materials with interesting textures.
